Bhavesh and Sejal met through one of my matchmaking events at the Taj Mahal Hotel in 1999. It was love at first sight for both of them. After just a few days of courtship, they were engaged, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

Fast forward to today, and they’ve now been happily married for 21 years, raising two beautiful children.

Abhishek, a charming and well-educated young man from the USA, came to me in 1993 to find a bride. He had very specific preferences—he loved traditional Indian food like lentils, rice, sabzi, and roti, not western fast food like pizzas and burgers (laughs).

After rejecting several beautiful girls from Mumbai's Gujarati families, I realized his ideal partner had to be someone with similar values and lifestyle. I introduced him to Himani, from a respected Mumbai-based family. Although she was initially hesitant about moving to the USA, I had a strong intuition that they were a perfect match. I convinced her family to match their horoscopes and arrange a meeting. They agreed, and from there, love blossomed.

Today, 26 years later, Abhishek and Himani are happily married with two wonderful daughters. They recently came to me again to help arrange marriages for their daughters, and it’s a pleasure to see their family grow.

This lovely couple, whose names I cannot disclose due to confidentiality, are both from some of India’s top families. The boy lives in the USA, and the girl wanted to stay in Mumbai.

My strong intuition told me their families had remarkably similar values and lifestyles, including the tradition of living in joint families. I suggested the girl’s family speak with the boy’s parents to see if they felt a connection. Once again, my intuition was right, and the two families clicked instantly.

Today, the girl is happily preparing to settle in the USA with her partner. As I told her, “A good marriage is about love, care, and understanding. If you have that, it doesn’t matter where you live—even if it’s on a remote island!”

Kunal, from a well-known family in Juhu, was looking for a bride who lived between South Mumbai and Juhu. Mosami, on the other hand, was from a small town near Pune. I suggested to Kunal’s mother that she review 100 girls from South Mumbai and Juhu first, before considering Mosami.

However, I was confident that Mosami was the perfect match for Kunal. Despite her initial reservations, Kunal’s mother trusted my judgment. After meeting Mosami, she agreed, and the two of them were soon married.

Today, Kunal and Mosami are leading a joyful life in a beautiful bungalow in Juhu, surrounded by their two kids and in-laws. This is a perfect example of how Priya Shah—the matchmaker—can create lasting, loving unions.

Charmi Ajmera, daughter of the Ajmera family, and Brij Tanti, son of the Suzlon family, are now blessed with a newborn son, Malav Tanti. At just 45 days old, Malav has already received blessings from me.
